LDL: Species

Versions

The Neuropterida Species of the World (NSW) catalogue is a primary product of an on-going effort, which has now spanned parts of three decades, to develop a comprehensive, global, species-level catalogue of the insect orders Neuroptera, Megaloptera, Raphidioptera, and Glosselytrodea. Some brief notes on the various versions of the catalogue are given below.

Product

As for version 3.0, except that the interactive/dynamic pages use MVC scripts to query data from the back-end SQL database.

Software

Master data files: Access 2010 database (.accdb). Post-processing and web delivery: Project data generated and downloaded in an Access .accdb database, ported to a Microsoft SQL Server Express Edition 9.0 database using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 10, then linked using MVC scripts to a custom web interface built with Microsoft Visual Studio Express 2013.
