Abstract: An inventory is provided for the Neuropterida taxa that occur in South Africa. It includes a discussion of the taxa relative to the political boundaries (provinces) and natural major biomes of the country, and the biomes represented in each province. A brief history of the documentation and exploration of the South African Neuropterida fauna is followed by an outline of the approaches used in the current documentation of the fauna.
